I've been having a blast painting mushrooms, owls, feathers, and leaves this fall. They seem to be everywhere. This gorgeous, cool autumn weather has given me so much energy.

Due to connections I made through an artist friend here in San Antonio, yesterday I had my first art show opening at a professional gallery, the High Wire Gallery. The work I created for the show is a series entitled, "The Coclea Parade: A Ghost's World", inspired by the 1889 issue of the New York Fashion Bazar and by my growing collection of antique tin types and photographs. I added some illustrations I did for a story a friend wrote. The story is about the lake behind her house and the fae that live in and around it. So the Lady of the Lake isn't the one from King Arthur, it's the Lady that lives in her lake. :D
